Care & Connection

The Care & Connections Program of the Church of the Nazarene is a network of personal connections between missionaries and Nazarenes around the world. Missionaries are assigned to districts and, then on the district level, connected to local churches. This gives each church an opportunity to become personally acquainted with the missionary family and their field of service. Typically, churches send cards, cash gifts, packages, and other remembrances to their Care & Connections Missionaries.

In return, the churches feel a sense of involvement with the global mission enterprise of the church through regular correspondence from the missionaries, updates from their field, and even through deputation services while the missionaries are on home assignment. The missionaries are encouraged, knowing people care and pray for them. The relationships built over time personalize names and faces that both the missionaries and their Care & Connections churches value highly.

Some important guidelines for caring for your Care & Connections Missionary

Missionaries assigned through the Links system, should be referred to as Links missionaries. Links assignments are made by global NMI in consultation with the regional NMI coordinator.
Each district will be assigned one globally deployed missionary to provide care and connection as their Links missionary.
Each missionary and church are expected to pray for each other, connect and share updates.
This assignment will be effective until December 31, 2023.
All financial gifts will be processed into their missionary deputation accounts by using FUNDING THE MISSION (FTM). If you need help using FTM you may contact our district FTM specialist Robin Hatcher via text at (440)-321-7806. In your text, please include your name, church name and your question and she will contact you.
Deputation gifts are meant to be used for their ministry and personal needs such as education expenses, health care, and retirement.
If you would like to give personal gifts to be used for other purposes those will need to be facilitated between the missionary and the individual/church. All US tax laws need to be followed and is the responsibility of the giver.
